The Hickory Hills
replacement bridge was designed to span Pond Creek using precast
concrete box culverts. The 12-foot roadway width by 24-foot span,
replacement bridge consisted of two box culverts, 12-foot x 7-foot and a
12-foot x 8-foot, with a bituminous wearing course, guiderails,
reinforced concrete abutments and wingwalls on spread footings. The
8-foot high culvert functions as a fish channel. Replacement bridge
design was in accordance with PADOT LRFD Box Culvert (BXLRFD) to support
HS-25 loading conditions.
